IJPS Operational Concept

The IJPS constellation is comprised of  NOAA-N, N' and EPS METOP-1,-2 satellite series. Together, the two satellite series will provide global coverage.  NOAA and EUMETSAT will operate and control their respective polar orbiting satellites and ground segments.  However, data collected by all the satellites will be shared and exchanged between NOAA and EUMETSAT. Under the IJPS agreement between NOAA and EUMETSAT, both parties will cooperatively provide blind orbit coverage and emergency support for global data retrieval as well as for command and telemetry services.
